JASPER COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Two semi-trailers crash in Jasper County, stalling traffic on Interstate 65.
Indiana State Police are on the scene of a wreck involving two semi-trailers in the northbound lanes of I-65, near mile marker 224. That’s about four miles north of the Fair Oaks Farms exit.
Investigators said around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, a semi was disabled and on the shoulder, waiting for service. A passing semi in the right lane drifted onto the shoulder and sideswiped the disabled semi. Troopers said the collision ripped the entire side of the second semi’s trailer. The trailer was full of general items going to Walmart and portions of the load landed in the right lane of I-65. The disabled trailer was full of contact lenses and stayed intact.
The driver of the disabled trailer was taken to the Jasper County Hospital with complaints of back pain.
The right lane remains closed at this time.
