Carroll County Fair in full swing

FLORA, Ind. (WLFI) – After crowning a Queen on Saturday, the Carroll County Fair has officially begun.

“This year’s theme is My Wild, Wild Best in 4-H. So, come and see all the excitement that is going along with that,” said 4-H extension educator Joanne Lytton.

“Tonight is our llama show. So at 6 o’clock llamas and alpacas will be in the show arena,” Lytton said. “On Wednesday, one of our exciting things is of course our Small Animal Premiere Showman which is goats, rabbits and poultry. Our top showman compete, followed by our scale-model tractor, and remote trucks have their pulling competition in the show arena at 2:30.”

The beef show is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Wednesday and the swine show is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on Thursday.

“During the middle of the swine show, when we take our lunch break, we shoot up our rockets for the week,” Lytton said.

Also, Thursday is the Pork BBQ Cook-Off at 11 a.m. with a sampling happening at 5:30 p.m.

“This is a family fair and we’re here for the kids and grandparents, aunts, uncles and everybody is very supportive,” said Lytton. “If you are looking for family and fun, this is the place to come.”
