LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Two people were sent to the hospital Monday night after a two-car crash on Lafayette’s south side.

Police said it happened around 8 p.m., when a car and pickup truck collided at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Parkway and 18th Street.

A driver and passenger in the car had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Police said they were taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. No one in the truck was injured.

Veterans Memorial Parkway reopened around 10:30 p.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
