West Lafayette Girls Soccer

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The West Lafayette girls soccer team is no longer without a coach.

West Lafayette has hired former Purdue player Shauna Stapleton as the new girls soccer head coach. Stapleton served as an assistant for the Red Devils last season.

The position opened after former coach, Aaron Blessing, left for a new teaching position at Kokomo High School.

West Lafayette has reached the semi-state level of the state tournament the last three years, finally finishing the job off in 2013 with a championship. The Red Devils finished the season on a seven-match winning streak en route to the title.

Lafayette Jeff announced the return of Nate Kelsey as the boys soccer head coach.

Jeff athletic director Peyton Stovall said in a release, “Kelsey coached his first season this past year for the Bronchos and had some plans change that made him available to continue coaching. We welcome him back to the staff here at Jeff.”
