Golf outing helps kids attend athletic camps

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A charity golf outing is raising money to send kids to summer camp.

Spots are still available for Coach Keady’s Legacy Golf Tournament. Proceeds of the event will help send children of Wounded Warriors to Purdue Athletic Camps.

Former Purdue Men’s Basketball coach Gene Keady said the camps help kids develop better athletic and social skills.

“It gives a chance for young people to be with other individuals of the same age and compete and learn how to get along with people of the same age that are on the teams together,” said Keady.

This year the outing will be held at Coyote Crossing on Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. Registration is $95 per golfer.

Prizes will also be given out for longest drive, closest to the pin and the lowest team scores.
