LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Crews have been out at the fairgrounds since Sunday, putting the final touches in place before the fair kicks off Saturday.
Tents have been in place for two weeks and the animal pens are ready to go as well.
On Thursday, crews hung up the sides to the tents and prepared the interior for the fair.
Goats and rabbits will arrive to the grounds on Friday. The rest of the animals come in on Saturday.
Tippecanoe County Extension director Roberta Crabtree said more than 300 people have volunteered for this year’s fair.
“It’s not possible without all the great volunteers that we have, all of the 4-H leaders, superintendents and people — who say, ‘looks like you need help,'” said Crabtree.
Judging was already underway at the fairgrounds for poster, Lego builds and other projects.
Those projects will be on display at the Exhibit Hall and Home Ec building.
