FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) – It was quite a sight in the sky in Frankfort Sunday as the Colts Cheerleaders went skydiving to benefit sick children at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.

Sixteen cheerleaders took the leap of faith to raise money for children’s hospital. The cheerleaders jumped at 13,000 feet and 120 miles per hour at Skydive Indianapolis.

Skydive Indianapolis donated 30 dollars for every tandem jump. Among the cheerleaders were two Purdue alums who said the first time experience was, in a word, “breathtaking.”

“Once the parachute opened up, I was good,” said cheerleader Leanna Elmor.

“When we were free falling, I did for a split second think I was going to die. But then the parachute went off, and the soaring down was awesome,” said cheerleader Kaiti Cooper.

Each cheerleader also jumped with a bear from Canopies for Kids. The bears will then be delivered to kids at Riley. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
