NORTH WEBSTER, Ind. (AP) — Police in northern Indiana say a Pennsylvania man was killed and his wife critically injured when a pickup truck crossed a highway’s centerline and crashed head-on into the family’s minivan.

The Kosciusko County Sherriff’s Department says a 5-year-old boy in the pickup truck also was hospitalized in critical condition after the crash Sunday on Indiana 13 in the town of North Webster.

The department says 39-year-old Jeremy Valentine of Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene. Sgt. Chad Hill says 38-year-old Seana Valentine was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital in critical condition, while their 9- and 7-year-old children suffered less serious injuries.

Witnesses tell WNDU-TV that the pickup truck was driving erratically before the crash. Bystanders pulled two children from the truck after it burst into flames.
