TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — Over the weekend at the Tippecanoe County 4-H fair, a new queen was crowned.

In her second year of competition, Riley Mineart was chosen as the Tippecanoe County Fair queen. She said she was shocked when she heard her name announced as the 2014 winner.

“I can’t even describe how it feels when they called my name. I just thought, wait am I contestant number 19? It’s just so many things run through your head, and then I stood up and I was just like that’s me,” Mineart said.

News 18’s very own Gina Quattrocchi was the emcee for the contest.

Mineart will be participating in the state queen contest in January.
