LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Before he hits the gridiron, one McCutcheon graduate rides one last time at the Tippecanoe County Fair.

Lane Beeler has been a part of 4-H for 10 years showcasing and riding horses at the fairgrounds. Beeler has been riding horses since he was 3, has been riding competitively since he was 11 and even trains horses with his grandfather.

Beeler was at the fairgrounds Tuesday for several riding competitions and will be back on Thursday for the showman events. He said the first few years participating in the fair were tough, but he’ll miss it.

“It’s definitely been a journey, but it’s been real fun. I’ve had a lot of good people around here to help me and help me grow. I had a really good experience meeting new people and making new friends, who all doing what we love to do,” said Beeler.

Two weeks from now, Beeler will be out at football camp at Purdue. Beeler was recently accepted as a walk-on and said he hopes to make it on as a special teams player and eventually a fullback.
