ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) — Pro football is back as training camps open across the country, and in Anderson, Wednesday was move-in day for the Colts.

Quarterback Andrew Luck says this is part of the experience he loves.

“Camp is fun. We’re here for one thing,” said the third year signal caller. “All football, that’s what it’s all about, a chance to get better.”

Luck and company all arrived with their essentials — pillows, phones, televisions and blankets. But Reggie Wayne only brought his helmet — a racing helmet. As is tradition, the 14-year veteran arrived in style, in an IndyCar two-seater driven by racer Ed Carpenter.

“We need to start fast,” said Wayne, who’s arrived by hum-vee, dump truck and helicopter in the past. “Getting off to a quick start sets the tone for the season. We need a sense of urgency. This is a symbolic way of entering camp.”

Wayne was also excited to say he’s been cleared by doctors after off-season knee surgery, but it’s up to the coaches to ease him back into practice as early as Thursday.
