Authorities warn residents after man escapes Logansport State Hospital

CASS CO., Ind. (WLFI) – Cass County authorities were searching late Thursday night for a person who escaped from the Logansport State Hospital.

Deputies told News 18 a man who was in the Isaac Ray high security unit for the mentally insane was able to somehow make it out of a fence.

Investigators said his name is Christopher Robbins. He had been charged in Jasper County with attempted residential entry, disorderly conduct and battery in February. He had been deemed incompetent to stand trial.

Deputies describe him as a 23-year-old white male, 5-feet 9-inches tall, about 140 pounds, with brown hair, brown beard and a moustache. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, sweatpants and sneakers.

Deputies ask residents to make sure to keep their house secure and be very aware of who they see in their neighborhood or who is walking down a county road.
