Condensed Dancing and Cruising brings similar crowd

Dancing and Cruising in the Streets

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Organizers for this year’s Dancing and Cruising in the Streets are calling the event a success.

Co-chair Matt Buche told News 18 that almost 20,000 people attended Saturday, which is similar to last year.

The 2014 edition had a few new wrinkles, including adding the word “Cruising” to the title and being entirely in Lafayette because of the expected closure of the John T. Myers pedestrian bridge.

Buche said next year’s event will also be in Lafayette because of the anticipated construction on the bridge.

He tells News 18 it was exciting to see so many people and so much energy in the same place this year.
