Four arrested after spice investigation in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, Ind. (WISH) – Police arrested four people after a spice investigation in New Castle.

According to Indiana State Police, the investigation began after officers pulled over an SUV on July 4 on State Road 3, south of Riley Road. Police arrested Larry Burcham, 30, and Mathew Conover, 32, both of New Castle for Dealing a Synthetic Drug Over Two Grams.

A search warrant was served at a trailer located at 556 W. Terry Drive Tuesday night following those arrests. John C. Abner, 31, and Amanda L. Bennett, 28, were arrested at the scene.

Abner was charged with Dealing a Synthetic Drug and Maintaining a Common Nuisance. Bennett was charged with Dealing a Synthetic Drug, Possession of Cocaine and Methamphetamine and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.

The Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad was assisted during this investigation by the Henry County and Hancock County Prosecutor’s Offices and Sheriff’s Departments and by Shirley Police Department K-9 Officer Brian Pryor and his partner Huron.
