HOWARD COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Police said a Carroll County woman was drunk when she caused a fatal crash in Tipton County in May.
Casie Johnson, 26, faces a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle causing death with a blood alcohol concentration of point-one-five or higher.
Indiana State Police said she had a blood alcohol level of point-one-six, which is twice the legal limit for driving.
As News previously reported, the one-vehicle wreck happened about 20 miles outside of Tipton when the car drove off the side of the road and hit a utility pole. Travis Maier, 22, of Frankfort, was killed.
Johnson was served while being held in the Howard County Jail for a probation violation.
