LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – As of Friday, Tippecanoe County officials said the owner of a border collie kennel is not in compliance as promised.

County building and health officials tell News 18 that Thurman “Randy” Sanders has not asked them to see his completed ventilation and temperature control for this barn.

You may remember, exactly 30 days ago on June 25, Sanders agreed to have those controls in place by July 25 with the Board of Zoning Appeals.

Building Commissioner Ken Brown said he was informed earlier this week that Sanders had bought an exhaust fan, but did not have it installed yet.

On Monday, there’s a scheduling conference about a pending summary judgment to shut the kennel down.

Also to be in compliance, Sanders must also install a proper waste disposal system. As of Friday, he had not applied for a permit for a system.

Sanders declined comment Friday, but added he would be in communication with News 18 after the weekend.
