Lafayette shooting injures two

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A shooting at a Lafayette apartment complex has left two people with minor injuries.

Lafayette police said around 3:30 Saturday morning they responded to a call at Spring Garden Apartments on Teal Road in reference to a person who had been shot.

LPD, Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police responded to the scene and set up a perimeter. Officers said they quickly learned that the suspect had fled the area.

Searches did not locate the suspect.

Two victims were found in the apartment complex. One male victim had injuries to his hand, and the other male victim had injuries to his right leg from fragments of a bullet.

The first victim was taken to Franciscan Saint Elizabeth East Hospital via ambulance. He is listed in stable condition. The other victim refused treatment at the scene.
