GREENFIELD, Ind. (AP) — An Indianapolis woman has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of awoman found dead last week along a central Indiana road.

Twenty-seven-year-old Amanda Gonzalez was formally charged Monday with murder and assisting a criminal in the death of 23-year-old Katrina L. Miller. Gonzalez remained jailed without bond Tuesday at the Hancock County Jail in Greenfield.

Two men bicycling along a Hancock County road found Miller’s body in a cornfield last Thursday.

The Indianapolis Star reports the Marion County coroner’s office found that Miller died from a gunshot wound to the head and ruled her death a homicide.

Court documents state that two men were with Gonzalez when Miller was killed, but it was unclear if they had been questioned or would be charged. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
