WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – It’s hard enough to have one child make it to the World Series, but for three Lafayette families, they will be represented with a child on each team.
The Lafayette Lightning 10U and 12U teams both clinched spots in their respective series this past weekend. The Ritchies, the Barretts and the Buches shared their take on what the accomplishment means to them.
“It’s once and a lifetime that three brothers get to go to the world series,” said Tanner Ritchie. “It’s a special opportunity to have three brothers on one team and three brothers on another team, and they’re both going to play in the world series,” said Hayden Ritchie.
They may be brothers, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a little competitiveness. When asked, who wants a world series championship more?
“I said it first, so I think I should,” said Reece Bushe. “First is worst and second is best,” said Ty Bushe.
Brotherly love at its best!
Both teams will be in action this weekend, the Lightning 10U team in Burleson, Texas and the 12U team in Los Alamitos, California.
