LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Come celebrate a year’s worth of helping Greater Lafayette families find their forever homes at the HomesteadCS Happy Hour.
HomesteadCS is a non-profit organization that not only gets families into homes but also educates them about how to become responsible homeowners and provides valuable resources.
Executive director Marie Morse appeared on News 18 This Morning and further explained the organization’s goals. “Our mission is to make sure people have affordable, safe homes. We do that in many ways – with education, with down payment assistance, with teaching people how to become homeowners,” Morse said. “Last year, we helped over 30 families become new homeowners.”
The happy hour is celebrating that fact, plus how HomesteadCS saved over $16.8 million in homes from foreclosure.
The event will be held Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sgt. Preston’s at 6 N. Second St. in Lafayette. It costs $15 per person, and all funds will go towards helping HomesteadCS serve even more people in our community through its housing counseling and education programs.
Attendees will receive a buffet-style dinner, including choice of burgers or chicken, sides, non-alcoholic drinks, and live music by local performer Jeff Anderson.
Reservations are not necessary, but you may RSVP.
