LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Get “out” of the house Saturday and head to OUTfest.
OUTfest is organized by Pride Lafayette, which is the only lesbian, gay, bisxeual, transgender, queer and intersex community center in the state.
“OUTfest is an educational tool that is a family-friendly festival,” explained chairwoman Ashley Smith during an appearance on News 18 This Morning.
OUTfest entertainment chairman Jeffrey Barbee expanded upon why Pride Lafayette does the festival every year and said, “OUTfest is our chance to throw our hat in with all the great festivals in town — celebrating the community and its diversity, entertainment and talent.”
OUTfest is Saturday, Aug. 2 from 4 p.m. until midnight on Second Street from Ferry to Columbia streets in downtown Lafayette. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Kids 12 and under get in free. Tickets will only be sold at the door.
There will be two live stages with five acts each, as well as vendors and a beer garden.
