One dead, one injured in northeast Indianapolis shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is dead and another hurt after an overnight shooting on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

Police were called to the 3000 block of Eastern Avenue just after midnight for a report of several people shot. When officers got to the scene, they found a man who had been shot and killed.

Another person was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital with at least one gunshot wound. Police say that person’s injuries were non-life threatening.

Police were working to get suspect information. Investigators do not believe the two victims were targeted randomly.
