West Lafayette band advances in state competition

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The West Lafayette Jr.-Sr. High School band is among 16 bands to advance in the Indiana State Fair Band competition.

The competition began around 9 a.m. Saturday. Forty bands from across the state came together to compete.

After a long morning, only 16 bands remain in the hopes of becoming the winner of the 2014 Music Travel Consultants Indiana State Fair Band Day. The final competition will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The finalists, in performance order, include:

  1. Kokomo High School
  2. Yorktown High School
  3. Frankton Jr.-Sr. High School
  4. Hagerstown Jr.-Sr. High School
  5. Mooresville High School
  6. West Lafayette Jr.-Sr. High School
  7. Monroe Central Jr.-Sr. High School
  8. Southmont High School
  9. Jay County High School
  10. Muncie Central High School
  11. Noblesville High School
  12. Anderson High School
  13. Richmond High School
  14. Winchester Community High School
  15. Northeastern Jr.-Sr. High School
  16. Centerville High School
