INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLFI) – The Indiana Department of Education released its 2013-14 ISTEP+ test results and statewide scores rose slightly.
In the English and language arts portion of the test, students came in 80.7 percent of students passing – versus 79.5 percent in 2012-13.
Over 83 percent of ISTEP+ takers passed the math portion of the test this year. That’s in comparison to 80 percent from last year.
Locally, it varied.
The Lafayette School Corporation saw a decrease from 75.1 percent to 71.9 percent for the 2013-14 school year. Scores from the Tippecanoe School Corporation decreased only slightly from last year at 78.4 percent. West Lafayette Community School Corporation continued to be a leader in statewide testing with a one percent increase to 92.1 percent.
Clinton Central School Corporation saw about a five percent drop in students who passed. Clinton Prairie School Corporation remained mostly steady at 77.6 percent. Only 50.3 percent of students passed at the Community Schools of Frankfort.
Benton Community School Corporation saw a slight increase at 72.1 percent for the 2013-14 school year.
Over 75 percent, which is about four percent less than last year, of students passed at North White School Corporation. Frontier School Corporation came in at 80.1 percent. Tri-County School Corporation passed 76.9 percent of its ISTEP+ test takers and 74.8 percent of Twin Lakes School Corporation students passed.
