MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A Logansport woman has died, and drugs are found in the teen’s car that crashed Sunday in Miami County.

Indiana State Police said Monday morning Hildebrand succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash. She was not wearing a seatbelt, but troopers believe the crash impact was too severe for it to have saved her life.

Floyd Smith, 17, was involved in a crash Sunday afternoon just south of U.S. 31 and County Road 300 South. Indiana State Police said Smith’s car veered into northbound traffic, hitting a car driven by 33-year-old Megan Burns, of Warsaw. She and her passenger, 22-year old Terra Hildebrand, of Logansport, were airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital.

Police found approximately 20 grams of marijuana and an unidentified powdered substance in Smith’s car.

ISP said the investigation in ongoing.
