Police: Searching for 4 in IFCU robbery

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Police responded to a robbery Monday morning at the Industrial Federal Credit Union on Meijer Drive in Lafayette, Indiana.

Lafayette Police Department was alerted of a robbery that occurred at the Industrial Federal Credit Union, 431 Meijer Drive, in Lafayette Monday at 9:25 a.m. Lafayette Police Lt. Brad Hayworth said four people wearing dark clothing walked into the bank brandishing handguns and demanded money. Police said three individuals collected the money, while one person watched the door.

LPD told News 18 in a release, no shots were fired during the robbery. However, one employee was struck in the head with a gun, but her injuries were not serious. She was treated on scene. No other injuries were reported.

Detectives said the individuals were last seen leaving the area in a dark-colored sedan. An immediate search was conducted, but the persons of interest were not located.

Lafayette police said a dye pack was deployed along with an undisclosed amount of cash that was taken.
