LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Cable line repairs will snarl traffic on South Street for roughly one week starting Friday.

The City Engineering Office announced that beginning Friday Frontier Communications will be repairing damages to lines. As crews work on making repairs, South Street between Earl Avenue and the railroad tracks will see restrictions.

Officials said the right lane in the eastbound direction will be closed starting Friday at 8 a.m. They said the closure should last around seven days.

Signs, cones and a vehicle directing traffic will all be on site to assist with traffic, city officials said.

Please seek an alternate route of traffic, if you can, to avoid traffic congestion as it will be down to one lane in that area. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
