Get a poolful of ‘doggy paddlers’ at Pooch Plunge!

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – This week at Castaway Bay, most of the swimmers will be doggy paddling. It’s not because they’re inexperienced swimmers, it’s because they’re dogs!

Shamrock Dog Park is throwing the third annual Pooch Plunge!

“Pooch Plunge! is a great event. It’s a chance for the community to come out to Castaway Bay, bring their lovely dogs, and get a chance to splash around in a park in a safe and secure area,” dog park president Heather Woody explained when she appeared on News 18 This Morning with her dog Kratos.

Pet owners are invited to bring their dogs to Castaway Bay from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. It costs $10 for one dog and $5 for an additional dog. Only two dogs are permitted per owner.

You can register at the gate or download a registration form. Dog owners must also provide proof of rabies vaccination. That can either be a veterinarian certificate or a city registration receipt.

For more information, you can visit the dog park online.

Castaway Bay is located on Beck Lane in Lafayette.
