LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A Lafayette hotel expansion will cause closures on Fairington Avenue Monday and Tuesday.

The City Engineering Office announced that Dwenger Excavating will be installing a new sewer structure and pipe for the expansion of the Courtyard by Marriott. The project will close the northbound lanes of Fairington Avenue, near the hotels just east of the State Road 26 Walmart, beginning Wednesday.

On Monday, Aug. 18 and Tuesday, Aug. 19 the road will be closed to all traffic, according to the Lafayette city officials.

The restrictions will last roughly two weeks, with an approximate completion date of Aug. 29.

Officials said flag persons will be on site to assist with traffic. Barrels and a safety fence will be in place as well. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
