LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Two arrests were made in a series of overnight tire slashings in Lafayette.

Lafayette police say 16 cars had tires slashed at Lewis Motors on Sagamore Parkway sometime during Friday night and Saturday morning, then two more cars were vandalized just down the road at AutoZone.

Casey Lewis of Lewis Motors said the incident is the first of its kind in 27 years at his business.

Lafayette police said they have arrested 30-year-old David Vaden and 29-year-old Ronnie Walker, both of Lafayette.

Both men face charges of criminal mischief. Vaden faces additional charges of false informing and of a sex offender to provide ID.
