LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A new group may possibly be taking over a senior living community that is under construction in Lafayette.

The former Lafayette Home Hospital site will soon be a community of homes for seniors.

On Wednesday, Health Care Real Estate Investment Trust announced it may be buying that site from Mainstreet Property Group. It is one of 17 properties the group may purchase from Mainstreet.

It is part of a $2.3 billion partnership with Health Lease Properties. The partnership would not change day-to-day operations at the site.

The purchase still has to be approved by stakeholders.
