Couple behind bars after marijuana found on property

CASS COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A Cass County couple is behind bars accused of growing marijuana.

According to Indiana State Police, 47-year-old Kevin Murray and 48-year-old April Sexton, both of Lucerne, Indiana, were arrested and face preliminary charges of maintaining a common nuisance, cultivating marijuana and possession of marijuana.

On Thursday, ISP was using a helicopter to search for marijuana plants in seven counties. That’s when officers spotted them growing near a house on E. 850 North in Cass County.

After obtaining a search warrant, police said they searched the house and other buildings on the property. Detectives found plants and other things used to grow and process marijuana.

Murray and Sexton are both being held in the Cass County Jail.
