WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Purdue Sports) — Saturday’s Gold and Black Scrimmage marked the No. 8 Boilermakers’ first time in a match like situation since preseason camp began last Saturday.
The team split into two groups, playing three sets of newcomers vs. returners before mixing the squads for the final two sets.
Freshman Araziah Stahl, junior Sam Epenesa and redshirt freshman Ashley Evans scored the majority of the offensive points, while freshman Danielle Cuttino got her hands on more than half a dozen blocks.
Defensively, junior libero Amanda Neill shared time with redshirt sophomore Kate Workman and freshmen Carissa Damler, Burgundy Price and Linnea Rohrsen.
The Boilermakers will play a 6 p.m. scrimmage against program alumnae on Saturday, Aug. 23, before kicking off the 2014 season at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, against USF.
