LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Fifteen clay artists had the work on display and for sale Saturday at the YWCA in Lafayette.
The Summers Potters Market celebrated its seventh year at the downtown community center. Artists featured at the market previously donated hundreds of bowls as part of the organization’s Clay Bowl-A-Thon this past April.
As News 18 previously reported, funds raised from that event benefited the organization’s Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention program.
Attendee Victoria Walker says it’s important to attend events like this and you might just learn something along the way.
“It’s free to come in. You get to look around and you can see a variety of different artists in the area. And some of them will even tell you how they’ve created it, how they’ve come up with the ideas, so you get the background on the pieces too,” said Walker.
Walker added that she was able to pickup some tips to take with her at a ceramics class at Lala Gallery in downtown Lafayette.
