INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has issued an Amber Alert for a child they say was abducted.
The child was taken in the 1400 block of Henry Street. The child, Delano Wilson, a black male who is 1-month-old and 16 inches long was last seen wearing a dark blue colored baby onesie.
Delano was last seen at 12:02 p.m. in the alley of the 1400 block of Henry Street with the abductors’ and is believed to be in extreme danger. IMPD believes the child was taken by an unknown white male who is 25-30 years of age. The male is described as a medium build with short brown hair and wearing a black do rag, red T-shirt, blue jean shorts and wearing red and black tennis shoes.
The male was with a Hispanic female who is about 25-30 years old. She has a thin build with long brown hair. She was seen wearing a green shirt and matching green hoop hearings.
The pair was last seen driving “an older model” blue 2000-2003 four door Ford Taurus.
Sgt. Kendale Adams with IMPD told News 18’s sister station WISH-TV that the father of the baby told police he’d been robbed and pistol-whipped. He told police he lost consciousness, and when he came to, he saw his baby taken by a man who was with a woman.
IMPD said a number of units were sent out to search the area for the baby, but they were unable to locate him. That is when IMPD issued an amber alert for help from the public
The age of the child and circumstances of how the baby was taken deems that the baby is in extreme danger.
