Motorcyclist dies following crash Sunday morning in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person has died following a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to Lafayette Road near the Lafayette Square Mall at 1:48 a.m. for a motorcycle crash. Police say the driver lost control and hit a traffic light control box.

The driver was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. IMPD dispatchers said he was later pronounced dead.

It did not appear the driver was wearing a helmet. Police were investigate why the driver lost control.
