DNR: Three arrested after beating man with canoe paddle

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Police arrested three men on Friday after witnesses saw them hitting a man with a canoe paddle on the Whitewater River.

According to DNR officers, a caller told dispatchers that several men were hitting the victim with a paddle and holding his head underwater.

Brookville Police Department officers arrived to find the victim, Logan Binnion, 21, of Spencerville, Ohio, in the water with head and facial injuries. He was taken to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.

Police said three men robbed Binnion and beat him. Those suspects were later identified as Kyle Eaton, 28, of New Castle, Daniel Weston Jr., 22, and Robert Vaughn, 26, both of New Castle.

All three were arrested and preliminarily charged with robbery and aggravated battery.
