Car fire snarls traffic on I-65 around rush hour

CLINTON CO., Ind. (WLFI) – The southbound lanes of Interstate 65 were shut down around rush hour Tuesday evening after a car caught fire.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. near mile marker 161, that’s about three miles north of the Frankfort exit.

Indiana State Police tell News 18 a car caught fire in the left lane, but both lanes were closed briefly.

Dispatchers said troopers were unable to locate the driver when they arrived on scene. They were able to speak to someone who said they were a passenger in the vehicle.
