West Lafayette lift station hits another delay

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Construction of a West Lafayette lift station nearly one year behind schedule is delayed again.

Last month the Northside Regional Lift Station’s contractor RL Turner said it would be complete at the beginning of this month. Its original deadline was November 2013.

However, Utilities Director Dave Henderson said they’re still waiting to install the last part of the foundation. He said the delay comes from the supplier, not the contractor.

Henderson said he will draft up work saying the project is substantially complete for the Board of Works to consider.

“Substantially complete I think we are there,” Henderson said. “We will see if the board agrees when we bring the final paperwork to them.”

He said the supplier was supposed to have the materials to the crew more than a week ago. Now, Henderson said he does not know how long it will take.
