Former Boilermaker D.J. Byrd continues playing career

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Former Purdue basketball player D.J. Byrd told Sports 18 over the summer, he was unsure if he would continue his playing career.

Wednesday night Byrd announced via twitter his signing with the London Lightning of the National Basketball League of Canada.

The former North Montgomery Charger will join a familiar face in Canada. The Lightning hired former IUPUI Jaguar Carlos Knox in July. Knox most recently ran a pro-am league in Indianapolis which Byrd played in over the last two summers.
