LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office released the report concerning the “suspicious death” victim found in a Lafayette home Wednesday morning.

Coroner Donna Avolt confirms the victim of the N. 16th Street incident was Ricky Couch, 54.

Avolt ruled the cause of death to be multiple blunt force trauma which caused a Subdural Hematoma. Avolt said she ruled the manner of death a homicide.

Wednesday night, police said James Bixler, 25, of Lafayette, was arrested for murder in connection to the incident.

However, the case is still under investigation. Officers said this was not a “random act.”
