White County child drowns in bathtub

WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A young boy is dead after drowning in a bathtub near Monticello Wednesday evening.

According to Indiana State Police, a family member found Ian Davidson, 5, in a tub at 1118 W. Hanawalt Road around 6 p.m. Wednesday. A call was made to 911 and a neighbor who is a paramedic came to the residence and started CPR.

Monticello Fire Department arrived and transported the boy to IU Health White Memorial Hospital. He was later airlifted to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis where he was pronounced dead just before 2 a.m. Thursday.

Davidson’s parents, Eric Davidson, 33, and Julia Moore, 25, were at the home at the time of the drowning. Indiana State Police say there have not been any charges at this time as the investigation is ongoing. Results of an autopsy are pending.
