Woman robbed after being hit with a handgun

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A woman’s purse was stolen after being hit in the face with a handgun early Sunday morning.

According to Lafayette police, officers responded to the robbery near Eighth and Ferry streets at 3:18 a.m. The victim told police she was hit in the face with the weapon before the man took her purse and personal property inside it. She suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene.

The man was described as being 5-foot-7, having a medium build and wearing dark clothing. Officers were unable to locate anyone involved in the incident.
