WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Where can you dance to Afro-Cuban music, eat Taiwanese dishes and admire Peruvian crafts all in one setting? The 19th annual Global Fest!
This free family-friendly event celebrates cultures from all around the world through music, food, art and more.
“We’ll have an international marketplace inside. We’ll also have cultural booths inside,” said Pennie Ainsworth, assistant superintendent of West Lafayette Parks and Recreation during an appearance on News 18 This Morning.
Ainsworth continued, “Outside, we have two large tents — one for entertainment and one for a variety of ethnic food.”
The event is free to enter but patrons will have to pay for food and items from the international marketplace.
Global Fest is Saturday, Aug. 30 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Morton Community Center at 222 N. Chauncey Ave. in West Lafayette.
