US 231 closure south of Crawfordsville

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – U.S. 231 will close south of Crawfordsville on Monday, Sept. 8 for a new bridge project, according to INDOT.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced the U.S. 231 Bridge will be replaced over a branch of Offield Creek, which is located between County Roads 300 and 400 South. The closure begins Monday, Sept. 8 and is scheduled to reopen on Oct. 23.

INDOT’s Debbie Calder said a detour will be in place for motorists. The detour follows U.S. 231 north to State Road 234 west to State Road 47 north, and then back to U.S. 231. The detour is the same just reversed for those traveling in the opposite direction.
