CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A female was transported to an Indianapolis hospital after a crash on the Hoosier Heartland in Carroll County Thursday afternoon.

Deputies told News 18, the crash happened just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of State Road 25 and County Road 800 West, near Delphi.

A woman was heading north on State Road 25 and attempting to turn left onto County Road 800 West when she pulled out in front of a truck heading south on State Road 25, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The driver of the truck had minor injuries. The female driver was in critical condition and was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

“Looking at this intersection — we just remind folks, if they would just take a couple extra seconds and take a good look at the intersection before they proceed on,” Carroll County Sheriff’s Maj. Tobe Leazenby said.

Both southbound lanes are now reopened, but were shut down while crews cleared the scene.
