DELPHI, Ind. (WLFI) – Installation of the Freedom Bridge will close State Road 25 near Delphi for one week, INDOT said.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, State Road 25 will be closed for one week, Sept. 8-15, as crews put the Freedom Bridge in place over the roadway. All four lanes of State Road 25 are required to be closed as a massive crane will be required to slide the bridge into place, said INDOT.
The closure of State Road 25 will be between the SR 25 interchange — at the junction of State Road 18/State Road 39/U.S. 421 — and the intersection of State Road 25 and State Road 218, near Delphi.
INDOT officials said detours will be in place for that portion of roadway.
Northbound traffic will be detoured south on SR 18/SR 39/U.S. 421, east on SR 18, north on SR 75, west on SR 218, and back to SR 25.
