Fugitive Search: Daniel Hughey

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Lafayette police are asking for the public’s help to find a man wanted on warrant for failure to appear in court.

Daniel Hughey, 33, is the subject of this week’s Fugitive Search. Police said Hughey described as is 6-feet-2-inches tall, weighs 195 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

LPD officers said Hughey is wanted on warrant for failure to appear for robbery and theft. He was sentenced in July to six years in the Department of Corrections for robbery and theft stemming from a January 2014 investigation. Detectives said Hughey robbed a Village Pantry store clerk at 14th and Salem.

Anyone with information on Hughey’s whereabouts is asked to call the Lafayette Police Department 765-807-1200 or the anonymous WeTip Hotline at 800-78-CRIME.

UPDATE: LPD confirmed Hughey was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
