INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Friday marks day three in the search for missing 6-week-old baby boy Delano Wilson.

Police say the search in a wooded area at Harding and Oliver streets near the family’s home will resume when the sun comes up. Police cars blocked off the search area overnight Thursday into Friday.

On Thursday, searches by police and fire crews of the White River and that wooded area produced no results.

Questions have begun to surface about what the baby’s father, 23-year-old Willie Wilson, said happened.

An IMPD spokesperson said the department does have concerns about Wilson’s claim that he was pistol whipped before his son was taken by a man and a woman.

Police say they received many tips in the case, but no leads have been received on the alleged suspect’s getaway car that Wilson described to police on Wednesday. The statewide Amber Alert that was issued after Wilson’s abduction has expired — alerts are typically kept active for five hours. Locally, however, this remains and active case and an active search is still underway. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
