Sobriety checkpoint nets one arrest

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A Thursday night sobriety checkpoint on Purdue’s campus yielded one arrest.

For three hours, officers from the West Lafayette Police Department, Lafayette Police Department, Purdue University Police Department, along with the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office, stopped cars going through the W. State and Marsteller streets intersection.

During that time, 209 cars passed through the checkpoint.

Only one person was arrested for operating while intoxicated. The person was identified as 24-year-old Jayce Brown, of West Lafayette.

No other drivers were cited or charged.
